Letter from Recruitment Chair
My name is Gina Giggey and I am the vice president membership for the Eta-Iota chapter here at the University of Nevada, Reno. We are all so excited that you are interested in recruitment and potentially being one of our sisters in Delta Gamma! Here at the University, we typically have our formal recruitment during the third week of school. Throughout the entire week, you are able to attend optional house tours, two nights of Sisterhood Night, Philanthropy Night, Preference Day, as well as the fun-filled Bid Day celebration! The recruitment process is an exciting time to be able to meet several different women and create friendships along the way. The mutual selection process allows prospective members to learn about each house and find the chapter that they can call home!
In Delta Gamma, we pride ourselves on being individuals who have come together in a bond of sisterhood. We are a chapter of strong, diverse women with high moral character and aspirations for ourselves and our philanthropy. We are always looking to better ourselves and make fun, lasting memories along the way. Delta Gamma creates opportunities for women to be a part of something bigger then themselves. We have a zero tolerance policy on hazing, and place our focus, instead, on the bonds we have as Delta Gamma sisters. Our sisterhood does not just end at graduation, but it is a lifelong bond that we hold together with sisters all around the world.
Delta Gamma has given me friendships that I know I will treasure for the rest of my life. These women have been there for me celebrating my achievements, accepting me with all of my flaws, and even pulling me up when I’m at my lowest. One thing that I will never forget is what a sister said to me, “These letters don’t make me better than you, but they make me better than who I was before.” I couldn’t agree with this statement, because this chapter and this sorority has changed me for the better, and I am so grateful for that. I strongly encourage you to sign up for recruitment here at UNR and hopefully experience all of things that I have! I look forward to meeting you all in the fall.
